London transport fare increases

In a somewhat sudden decision, but one that had been in the air for some time, Transport for London has decided on an average 5.9% increase in its fares.

For those travelling to London, whether for business or pleasure, the main consequence is an increase in the daily price cap of the Oyster Card. This increases from the current £7.70 per day to £8.10. Consequently, for stays of 4 days or more, it will be necessary to purchase an Oyster with more credit loaded than today.
