The village of Mont Saint-MichelThe afternoon will be devoted to discovering Mont-Saint-Michel, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1979. You will start your visit by strolling through the picturesque streets up to the famous Abbey. With your entrance ticket, which will be given to you by your guide, you will take your time to visit this magnificent Benedictine building dating back to the 8th century. Developed in Gothic style and dedicated to the archangel St Michael, the Abbey houses a superb cloister, suspended between the sky and the sea. The arcades of the galleries are supported by columns in staggered rows, letting in more light and air. Behind the cloister is the impressive refectory, where the monks gather for their silent meals.
After your visit to the Abbey, don't miss a walk along the streets along the ramparts, from where you can enjoy a sensational view of the bay. The incredible view, stretching out over the sand surrounding the rock, will leave you breathless. You can also take advantage of the time to taste some of Mont's specialities (the famous Breton crepes, for example), visit the souvenir shops, attend some of the village events and, if time permits, visit some of the museums.
Departure from Mont-Saint-Michel is scheduled for about 16:30, arriving in Paris at about 21:45.
Please note:People with reduced mobility should note that the ascent to the abbey can be strenuous.
